This is WAY past due! Got lost in the queue, sorry!
Happy Bday little Kyle! The little guy had a really cool party at The Walkersville Southern Railroad Caboose. I gotta say, it was an awesome day for a train ride! We all had a blast and the cake was crazy good! See the pics after the jump.
I know, it was Halloween like 2 months ago and i'm just now getting up some pics! I'm lazy and there's really no other good excuse, I admit it! :) So just go look at the pics! As a side note, Olivia asked to be a dog last minute, she was originally going to be a fairy. The mask was something she insisted on! As you can see, the fairy was definitely the better of the two choices, but what are ya gonna do...
I hope everyone is doing well! I'm really sorry for the lack of posts and pics! This very well may be one of the quickest summers of all time for me! Unfortunately, I only have some of the pics avail. But some of the other fun Scappa Summer Events have included: The Lion King at the Kennedy Center, a beach trip to OC, some bday parties and a couple of work picnics to name a few. So here's the quick picture recap on some of the other major goings on this summer with the Scappa Family.

And lastly, we just got back from our family vacation in Dewey Beach. Now I know what you're thinking, "who goes to Dewey after college", right? Well don't laugh people, but the Dewey/Rehoboth Beach combo is really beginning to win me over. Between the great restaurants and Fun Land in Rehoboth, and the night life and great beaches in Dewey, it's not a bad trip to take considering it's only a 3 hour drive! Don't get me wrong though, it's not South beach or anything, but Miami doesn't have the Jolly Trolley, now does it? ;)

Hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th! Despite the rain, we were able to catch the Falls Church show that went late into the night. Nico passed out in the car and we found a spot with a nice view and popped open the back of the SUV where Chris, Olivia and I kept dry and cozy while watching the show. They kicked off later than expected, almost 10pm due to the rain delay. We were actually on our way home(1/2 block away) when the show started. Having to explain to Olivia that the fireworks weren't actually going to happen, was not so fun. Thank goodness they decided to see it through! I quickly turned the ship around and raced to find a spot. Luckily, everything worked out and we watched the show from our car with some popcorn and drinks and most importantly, stayed dry!:)
Hope everyone else's 4th was as fun as ours!
I recently received an email from an old co-worker and friend(you know who you are) who asked, "So wait, I was on your site and i'm confused, do you have a son or not? Is it one or two children?". I mean......that just reaffirms that "our second child" doesn't get enough love on our family blog! So here's a little tribute to nico!
Does this picture remind you of someone?

Holy mickey mouse! Even with all of the torrential downpours, Disney still lived up to every expectation and we managed to have a complete blast! However, I think Olivia's on to this big charade at a ripe age of four. I was shocked when she turned to me and offered comfort as I pretended to be scared in the snow white haunted house ride, "Don't worry Papi, it's not real! They're all wearing costumes.....right, right?". However, as she came up on the latter part of her sentence, you could sense the uncertainty in her voice and was clearly hoping I would offer some sense of reassurance! But even still, it was a dark scary ride with mechanical witches and alligator looking water logs that snaped at you as you drove on by! I have a feeling it might be due to all of the scooby doo she watched at an early age?
At any rate, this trip served as a great first run through. I say "first run" because poor nico was not part of the festivities. I know, terrible, right? But we were piggy backing off of chris' work trip! It's not like it was a planned family trip or something! There were a lot of people there and there was a lot of alone time for me!! I mean it was mayhem with all of the kids going crazy and long lines! I mean it's disney for crying out loud and it's totally understandable we didn't take him, right? It rained a lot? ........ Alright fine little buddy, I'm sorry okay. We'll make another trip to get you there when you're a little older to perhaps recognize mickey or Buzz Lighyear. OR.......maybe I WILL just photoshop you in some of the pics like some of my coworkers suggested.....I mean you'll never know the difference! Mu-ha-ha-ha-ha!!
Here are some pics for everyone!

Thanks to everyone for making Olivia's 4th Birthday Scaptastic! Leesburg isn't exactly around the corner for our family in Maryland and most of our friends. As Olivia said herself, "it was the bestest birthday ever!". Here are some pics!
We love you more than words than words can ever say! Happy fourth birthday babygirl! Here are a few pics before the big bash!
Oh yeah....nico's walking

Okay, so i'm a little behind in new posts(3 months), I know! Sorry! So here's a recap of xmas, New Years, our Bahamas trip, and Nico's 1st bday.
Christmas 2007: December was a bit of a blur. Coming off our Miami trip, we had back to back office holiday parties, xmas in Salisbury(chris' dad's side of the fam), Xmas in Bethesda(my side of the fam), Xmas at home(both of chris' fam's). Yes that's 3 xmas'. Needless to say, Olivia and Nico were not complaining.
New Years: was pretty lame and quiet, just the way I like them!;)
Bahamas: The trip to the Bahamas was truly memorable! I've never seen such incredible sand in my life! So different from Miami or even Jamaica for that matter! We stayed at the Ocean Club which was pretty nice. Absolutely breathtaking grounds! Would definitely go back and stay at The Cove at Atlantis though. Very nice and MUCH cheaper!
Nico's Birthday: Poor Nico....Nico's first Bday was certainly not forgotten, but it did come and go pretty quickly and certainly without much ado. Considering we had a full on catered event for Olivia's first bday! Don't worry my little buddy, we'll make it up on your second when you can actually start remembering and asking for things!:) We just had the little family cupcake, candle, song and dance type of thing. It was cute and personal, right? Anyway, happy bday again little man!
Here are some of the pics covering the last few months.
Hope everyone is well and look forward to seeing everyone soon!
